On hot days, admission to our exhibitions is free all day: If the wetter.de app/website shows 25 degrees Celsius or more for Ulm at 11:00 a.m., we’ll give you free admission. With this promotion, we’d like to make a small contribution to making the increasingly warm summer months, a tangible consequence of climate change, a little more bearable.

The artist and poet Katalin Ladik is a key figure in the Central and Eastern European art scene. Since 1962, she has created a significant body of artistic work, utilising expressive forms of concrete and visual poetry, sound art and movement. Radical, provocative and innovative, Ladik broke the taboos of socialism, questioned and challenged the boundaries of genres and constantly expanded the field of her forms of expression. She works at the interface of established and new performance traditions, from theatre and film to happenings, rituals and photo performances. Her own voice and body are always important tools.
Born in 1942, Katalin Ladik grew up bilingual – Hungarian and Serbian – in the culturally diverse Novi Sad in Yugoslavia (now Serbia). In the male-dominated art world of the 1960s, she focused intensively on the status of women in socialist society and mythological themes, particularly those of the Balkans. International neo-avant-garde practices were the starting point for her artistic work.
Ladik has received several awards and has had numerous national and international exhibitions. Her work comprises over 25 books. Her retrospective exhibition “Oooooooo-pus” is currently on a European tour. Ladik has lived in Budapest since 1992.
The programme was realised with the support of the Liszt Institute Hungarian Cultural Centre Stuttgart, the Peter Horvath Foundation, the Baden-Württemberg Foundation and the Literatursommer 2024.

As a highlight in the summer holidays, we would like to invite you to discover the different exhibitions in the houses. The Museum Ulm is visiting the Kunsthalle weishaupt with the 23rd Triennale Ulmer Kunst, and the work show “DYNAMIC – Movement in the Collection” can also be discovered there. In the HfG archive you have the opportunity to explore the exhibition “Plastic – Magic Material: Freedom and Limits of Design” free of charge.

Neue Abend-Veranstaltungsreihe im Rahmen der Ausstellung „Willi Siber. Cosmos Color“
Gemeinsam bieten Museum Ulm, kunsthalle weishaupt und billbar einen Feierabend mit inspirierenden
Kurzführungen, leckeren Drinks und besonderen Specials wie Live-Musik, Performances, Künstler*innengesprächen
und vielem mehr an.
Als Highlight des nächsten Art & Apéro-Termins am 15. Januar 2026 findet eine Filmvorführung statt. Gezeigt wird der eindrucksvolle Dokumentarfilm „Willi Siber. b.a.r.o.c.k.e.p.r.a.c.h.t“ des Motion-Designers und Filmregisseurs Oleg Kauz. Hierfür hat der Filmemacher den Künstler fast ein Jahr regelmäßig mit der Kamera begleitet. Der Film ermöglicht auf einfühlsame Weise einen intensiven Einblick in das Arbeiten des Künstlers. Dabei werden bedeutende Bezüge zur Kultur und Landschaft Oberschwabens auf poetische Weise sichtbar.
Der Film wird um 18.30 Uhr im neu eingerichteten Kinosaal im 2.OG des Fried-Baus im benachbarten Museum Ulm gezeigt (Zugang über den Steg).
Vorab um 18 Uhr gibt es eine Kurzführung durch die Ausstellung “Willi Siber. Cosmos Color” und im Anschluss an die Filmvorführung besteht die Möglichkeit zum Austausch.
Außerdem haben Besucher*innen die Gelegenheit, die aktuelle Ausstellung in entspannter Atmosphäre zu besichtigen und im Anschluss oder während des Besuchs der kunsthalle weishaupt in der billbar leckere Drinks zu genießen.

Im Dezember bietet Dr. Stefanie Dathe, Leitung Museum Ulm, um 18 Uhr eine Kurzführung durch die neue kulturhistorische Präsentation „Fabelhaft! Der Löwenmensch und seine Nachfahren“ des Museum Ulm zu Gast in der kunsthalle weishaupt an. Um 18.30 Uhr können Gäste bei einer Kurzführung mit Heidrun Heil, Kunstvermittlerin, die Ausstellung „Willi Siber. Cosmos Color“ entdecken.

Teilnahme: 10 Euro (inkl. Eintritt und Programmteilnahme, zzgl. Getränke)
Raus aus dem Alltag, rein ins Museum! Eltern oder Großeltern mit Babys sind eingeladen, an den kurzweiligen, 45minütigen Führungen durch die Ausstellung teilzunehmen. Egal, ob im Tragetuch, im Kinderwagen oder auf der Decke, das Baby ist mit dabei und darf jederzeit gestillt, gefüttert oder gewickelt werden.
